Mintd is an online community that allows users to buy, sell and style items they have made or modified themselves.

Every type. Mintd aims to give artisans and entrepreneurs of every stripe the chance to offer their goods to a global market. You can make a store and begin selling with minimal computer experience in a very short amount of time.

If you can take photos, surf the internet, and upload images, it should only take about 10 minutes to set up a store (once you have photos!) and start taking orders.

Its free to set up your store. If you want added functionality, like store customisation, you can pay a yearly subscription to upgrade your store. Mintd takes a small commission on every sale, the rate depending on your subscription plan. The more you pay yearly the less commission we take.

There are many ways to browse the contents of Mintd and find something you might like. You can search by keywords, tags or description. You can look at peoples lookbooks, to see what other Mintd members have bought. And you can meet and befriend other members directly, and see what items they’ve saved as their favorites.

There will be many ways to find something that will interest you, and they revolve around the core of Mintd: Community. Every interaction, purchase, comment and bookmark made by a user and used to score each store and items ‘interestingness,’ bringing them to the top of the pile. Tags, groups and searches are also available, but the biggest innovation that will transform your shopping is the Lookbooks that users post online and earn royalties from.

Interest Rank is what we use to calculate ‘Interestingness’. Where you see ‘Interesting Products’ or ‘Interesting People’ is a list ordered using Interest Rank. We calculate Interest Rank by monitoring how all our users interact with items and the more interaction some items get than others the more interesting we consider them to be. This is a great way for us to show our best content to our users, as decided by our users!

People buy products. They take photos of themselves or their friends with these products, and upload them to the site. Other users can browse these lookbooks, and link to the products the stylist has used. If they subsequently buy the products, the user who submitted the lookbook gets a commission from the price.

The user who posts the lookbook gets 2.5% of the price as credit to spend at Mintd. If they earn over $100 a month they can receive it in cash.

We hope everyone will want to share their style and show how they use/wear their purchases. The commission is a small payment that could translate into a lot of free clothes if the market is really into someone’s look. There are plenty of people that have 10,000+ blog subscribers….

The free account allows users to sell up to 10 items. For $20 a year, the user can sell up to 25 items, $50/year for 50, and $100/year for up to 250. Paid accounts also have access to a range of business management tools, that allow pro users to grow their online business. You can see all the details HERE

Any sort of paypal account is fine to use for buying and selling on Mintd.

If you don’t have a Paypal account, don’t worry! You can still use your credit card to pay for purchases on Mintd. Simply follow the prompts in the checkout process and you can pay by credit card via Paypal.

You can choose any currency you like to view all prices on Mintd. Your preferred currency can be selected by going into your Profile then clicking on ‘Edit Profile’ here you will find the option to select your desired currency.
Mintd takes care of the currency conversion once you buy or sell something, so you can just sit back and relax!

Yes you can! Everyone can make a banner and store logo. Sellers who are on the Pro, Roller or Tycoon subscription plan also have the option to choose background colours, choose text colours and add background images. So you can make all sorts of great customizations to your store to make it as individual as your products!

Store banners appear at the top of your store pages and should be 840px wide and 140px high. Your store logo image will be displayed in the store list pages and will be 200px wide and 100px high. You do not need to have a banner or logo for your store, but it helps to set you apart from the others, and give your store a stronger indentity.

We recommend that our sellers adhere to the American Apparel sizes standard. If they are selling something else then we recommend that specify their sizes in their product description. As we do not screen our sellers products we are not able to directly set standard sizes.
If there is a product you are interested in but cannot find information on it’s sizes, try asking the seller (click on the ‘Contact Seller’ on the product’s detail page).

A lot of the groovy functionality you see on Mintd uses Javascript. So your browser needs to be fairly new and have Javascript enabled.
We recommend:
Mac: Safari or Firefox
PC: Internet Explorer 6+, Firefox or Safari
If you have an older version the website will still mostly work, but just not as well! Besides, if your browser is that old you really should upgrade anyway ;-)

Yes you can have more than one shop on Mintd, however each shop will require a separate email address, where your notification emails will be sent. You can use the same paypal account for both stores though.

If there’s something you sell that doesn’t seem to have a category already on Mintd, simply go to the “Suggestions” section in the forum and write your idea in the “Category Suggestions” thread. This is checked regularly.

If you want to change the email address where you receive all your notification emails from Mintd, go to ‘Your Profile’ then go to ‘Edit Profile’. You can enter a new email address here.
If you want to change your paypal email address go to ‘Your Store’ then got to ‘Edit Store’. You can enter a new email address here.

Yes, you can change your screen name by going into your profile, then clicking on ‘Edit Profile’, here you will see the option to choose a different screen name.

Yes, you can change your store name and/or your store URL by going into your store and clicking on ‘Edit Store’, here you will see the option to choose a different store name and/or your store URL.

You can feature items in your store by going into your Store then clicking on ‘Edit Store’. Here you will see the option to select 3 of your items to feature. You can change your featured items as often as you like.
