About me:

Paper Flower Girl is the baby of Isis Sturtewagen, a young independent designer living in Belgium (Europe). After completing her studies in Free Arts, she decided to go study Archaeology. Specialising in Archaeological textiles, textile techniques and costume, she uses a lot of old techniques in a fresh, modern way.
She’s got art fingers since she was born, sewing, drawing, painting,… she has done those things as long as she can remember. The name Isis gave to her line, Paper Flower Girl, goes back to her early youth. When she was a kid, in summer she and her parents often went to the beach. It was a tradition to make paper flowers and then exchange these with the flowers of other kids, or sell them for shells they found on the shore.
Isis loves the stories and characters of things. Every item she makes has it’s own story. She tries to reflect these stories in the titles and descriptions she gives to her work.
