Colleen Baran is a Canadian, multidisciplinary artist (working in jewellery, photography and book-works) who has exhibited and published internationally .
In 2006 she was featured in her first three books:
*Her Floating Saucer Rings (2002- Present) in The Art and Craft of Making Jewelry by Joanna Gollberg (Lark Books, USA)
- A necklace in Chain Mail Jewelry by Terry Taylor and Dylon White (also Lark Books, USA)
- And ‘Love and Lust’ Bracelet in Thinking about Art: The One Word Project by JT Kirkland (NY, USA).
Upcoming, in 2007 she will be have a bracelet project featured in “Felt Underground” edited by Marissa Mouton (Barnes and Noble Books, US) and photography in “Scan Your Skin” by Borean Design (Italy).
Recent exhibitions include: Jewellery Journey Air at the Museum fur Kunst und Gewerbe, (Hamburg, Germany), a first solo show Clouds at Dream (Vancouver), The Northern Lights at The Design Exchange (The Canadian Design Museum, Toronto), Body Ornament West at The Triangle Gallery of Visual Arts (Calgary), and Arts 2006 at Surrey Art Gallery (Surrey) with a 2nd prize in Photography and New Media.
Recent online featues of her jewelry include the Canadian Design Resource, Dexinger News, the Naver, Notcot and in the lovely blogs: Craft, Ma Roulotte, Stylehive, Luxist, Indieshopping, Yanko Design, Rag and Bone and Rare Bird Finds.
