Five charms of faceted carnelian and pink garnet swing in a fabulously bright little cluster beneath Thai silver stalks, on Balinese earhooks. All metal is sterling silver or higher silver content.

Quartz, Armed

Hand-formed and hand-coiled armatures of sterling silver are hung from fused and hammered rings of fine (99.9% pure) silver on leverback fittings. Each armature supports a wired, faceted teardrop of rock quartz (genuine stone; not crystal or glass). I’ve oxidised each assembled earring and given them a brushed finish. All metal is sterling or fine silver.

Earrings measure approx. 54mm (2.15”) top to bottom.

Jumble - multi-stone and pearl necklace with sterling silver accents

The ‘Jumble’ is one of my favourite necklaces to make, although I don’t do them very often! Jumbles have mixes of a few different materials and no definite pattern in the placement of those materials, so you’re not caught short if they move on your neck and the back ends up at the front ;-)

This Jumble is a mix of chocolate-dyed faceted aventurine, dark olive jade tubes, turquoise wheels (Chinese, stabilised not reconstituted, probably dyed), carnelian, garnet, freshwater button pearls and Balinese sterling silver. It’s strung on bone-coloured SoftFlex, one of the best quality stringing cords on the market and known for its good drape and flexibility. The closure is a small sterling silver toggle clasp – these are great for fingers both nimble and not-so-nimble, compared to more traditional lobster and spring ring clasps.

This piece measures approx. 47cm end to end. That’s about 18.5” if you’re under the Imperial system.

Jumbles are always one of a kind; when I’m in the mood to make one I pull out a few stones/pearls/ceramics in a colourway that I find suits my mood, and start putting them together. Believe it or not, there’s actually a fair amount of thought that goes into making a seemingly random pattern!
