quartz crystal drops on silver loops necklace

I love these beautiful clear quartz crystal briolettes as they provide just enough sparkle to catch the eye while still being elegant and subtle.

Three of the briolettes have each been suspended on sterling silver loops, which have been soldered closed, hammer beaten to provide a more organic texture and then oxidized to a rich black.

The three loops have been suspended on a delicate and simple sterling silver chain which is finished with handmade sterling silver findings.

The necklace is approximately 43cm (17”) in length, while the loops are each 1.7cm (0.7”) in diameter. The quartz briolettes are approximately 1cm (0.4”) tall and 0.7cm (0.3”) at their widest point.

I can generally change the length of this necklace – just contact me to ask.

five petal flowers necklace on silk

These simple five petal flowers have been sawn from sterling silver sheet and then domed to give them a more organic shape.

The flowers have been hung from roughly hammer-beaten sterling silver pins to form stems. They have been given a sanded finish before being tumbled to make them bright and shiny.

The necklace features three flowers suspended from lovely rich purple natural silk thread, with the centre flower being larger than the other two.

The largest flower is approximately 1.5cm (0.6”) in diameter and 2.7cm (1”) long, while the smaller two are approximately 1.1cm (0.4”) in diameter and 2.2cm (0.9”).

The silk necklace is approximately 43cm (17”) long. I can generally change the colour and length of the thread if required – just contact me to ask.

etched leaves pendant on silk

This lovely small and subtle pendant has been created by etching a dense pattern of leaves into a piece of sterling silver, before sawing out this simple teardrop shape and doming it slightly at the larger end to give it an organic shape.

The etched areas have been given a soft and muted white silver oxide finish by way of repeated heating. The raised areas have then been gently sanded back, leaving an eye-catching, shiny silver finish.

The pendant has a really nice light weight to it and is suspended on a soft green length of natural silk thread which features handmade sterling silver findings.

The necklace is approximately 43cm (17”) long. The etched leaves pendant is approximately 1.8cm (0.7”) at its longest point and 1.2cm (0.5”) at its widest.

These lovely earrings have been created by etching a dense pattern of leaves into a piece of sterling silver, before sawing out these simple teardrop shapes and doming them slightly at the larger end to give them an organic shape.

The earrings have a really nice light weight to them and feature sterling silver posts and butterfly earring nuts.

Each etched leaves earring is approximately 1.8cm (0.7”) at its longest point and 1.2cm (0.5”) at its widest.

Damask pendant on black silk

To create this pendant I etched a decorative damask-type pattern into sterling silver. The silver was then cut out in the shape of a small detail which caught my eye in another damask pattern.

The etched areas of the metal have been left with a matte white silver oxide finish created by a process of repeated heating. The raised surface area has been gently sanded back to give it an eye-catching shiny silver finish.

The pendant is suspended on black natural silk thread which is finished with handmade sterling silver findings.

The necklace is 45cm long, while the pendant is approximately 3.5cm (1.4”) at its widest point and 2.7cm (1”) at its longest. I can generally change the length and the colour of the silk thread if required – just contact me to ask.

The natural silk is designed for use in jewellery making. It can be handwashed and even ironed if required.

japanese etch pendant & earrings set - light green silk

I’ve etched a panel of sterling silver with a lovely Japanese cherry blossom pattern. The etched sections have been blackened, while the silver has been left with a brushed but still shiny finish.

The pendant is approximately 4.2cm (1.6”) long and 1.4cm (0.5”) at its widest point. It is suspended from medium green natural silk thread. The necklace is approximately 43cm (17”) long.

The earrings are approximately 4.7cm (1.8”) long, including the handmade sterling silver ear wire. They are 0.8cm (0.3”) at their widest point. The panels of the earrings will swing eye-catchingly as you move.

The silk thread used is designed for use in jewellery making and is hard wearing. It can be both washed and ironed if required. I can alter the length of the silk thread and I may also be able to change to a different colour thread – just ask!

marilyn brooch

This elegant brooch has a Warhol-like image of Marilyn Monroe which has been meticulously hand cut from sterling silver, a parody of Warhol’s references to the cheaply mass produced.

The cut out areas of the brooch will show through the colour of whatever it is pinned to. The sterling silver of the brooch has been left with a brushed finish and the piece features sterling silver brooch findings.

The brooch has a light weight and is approximately 2.8cm (1.1”) tall and 3cm (1.2”) wide.

vintage yellow flower bead and chain earrings

These beautiful bright yellow flower vintage beads are made from German glass and come from a collection purchased from a bead manufacturer when it closed its doors in the early ‘70s.

The vintage beads are suspended on links of handmade sterling silver chain which have each been given a hammer-beaten finish. These in turn are suspended on handmade sterling silver ear hooks.

The earrings are lightweight and swing in an eye-catching way as you move. They are approximately 5cm (2”) in length.

handmade sterling silver chain bracelet (very special!)

Why is this sterling silver chain bracelet so special? Well I happen to think that all handmade chains are special! Most chains you see for sale are made by machines, whereas handmade chains are very labour-intensive, with each individual link having been worked on carefully by the maker and left with its own character.

I have one of these chains as a necklace and it is my absolute favourite piece of handmade jewellery – I wear it far more frequently than any other piece. It has the most lovely feel to it, the large-ish and beaten loops make it very eye-catching.

The chain for the bracelet is entirely handmade from sterling silver – and I’ve made sure that it actually looks handmade, which I think is part of its appeal!

Each loop has been shaped from wire, cut, linked, soldered and then lovingly hammered to give it a lovely hammer-beaten finish which catches the light so well. The whole chain is then tumbled for a number of hours to give it a really sparkly finish.

The bracelet features a simple but sturdy and secure handmade shepherd’s hook clasp. The hook will clip over a loop in the chain at any point, and unless clasped at the final link it will leave a length of chain dangling from your wrist.

The bracelet is approximately 25cm (9.8”) in length and each loop is approximately 1cm in diameter (0.4”). I’m happy to change the length of the bracelet if required – contact me via a conversation to discuss.

Why is this sterling silver loop chain so special? Well actually I happen to think that all handmade chains are special! As mentioned, the chain can be worn in different ways. The simple handmade catch can be hooked to clasp the chain at any point. You can wear it at its full length, or clasp it higher up to leave a trailing strand of loops, which can be worn hanging down at either the front or the back.

The chain is approximately 50cm (19.5”) in length and each loop is approximately 1cm in diameter (0.4”).

japanese etch cuff - sterling silver

A beautiful and dense Japanese chrysanthemum pattern has been etched onto sterling silver. The etched areas have been blackened to highlight the pattern, while the exposed areas of silver have been given a brushed, ‘scratchy’ finish.

The strip of silver has been formed into a cuff. The metal is springy, but not so hard that you couldn’t gently make minor adjustments to the shape to suit yourself.

The cuff is 16cm in circumference (not including the gap between the ends), with the pattern appearing on approximately 8.8cm of the exterior. The cuff is approximately 6.5cm in diameter at its widest point and 4.8cm at its deepest. It is 1.2cm tall.

Swallows have been intricately cut out by hand from sparkly, hammer-beaten panels of sterling silver.

The panels swing eye-catchingly from handmade sterling silver ear hoops.

The hoops are approximately 2cm (0.8”) wide, while the panels are 1.8cm (0.7”) tall and 1.6cm (0.6”) wide. The overall length of the earrings including the hoops is 3.5cm (1.4”).

Doubled up strands of luscious deep red natural silk thread are used to suspend the pendant. The silk is clasped with handmade sterling silver findings.
