Custom Orders?
When i first started making these i use to do custom orders. But I currently make these more than any of my other jewelry and i have weekly orders to fill because i just started selling my threads to a couple of resellers. So I’m currently only able to do custom orders for resellers that buy wholesale. I made this decision, because i get bored easily makeing the same thing over and over. And to change the monotony, i constantly try to create other unique, ethnic, colorful, jewelry, and only do [single] custom orders for products that i don’t make all that much of! But I will be posting other colors of these and other threads soon! As a matter of fact I’ll create a look book with all the colors i currently have made. (updated 6/29/07)

Luck da Bahia Key Chain

Brazilian good luck charm that grants wishes and protects. It consists of fitas (ribbons) and a figa (stone carved fist).
The fita reads: “lembranca do senhor do bonfim da bahia”, which means “Souvenir of Our Lord of a Good End of Bahia”. Senhor do Bonfim is said to be one of the names used for Jesus, and Bahia is a region in Brazil. The idea is to tie three knots, and for each knot you make a wish. Then you wait for the fita to fall off, you throw it in the sea, and your wishes are granted! It can take up to a year or more for one fita to fall off (or if you need your luck asap,maybe you can help it fall off)! But when it does its a great reason to use to go to the beach and hope again.
The Figa de Pedra and Pepper charm is what would be called a penca (or penca de balangandan), an Afro-Brazilian / Candomble combination of charms that is believed to evoke good luck, protection of the African Gods and Goddess, and the strength of the nature.
